Important firmware updates are now available for VersaLink C400, C405, B400, B405, C500/C600, C505/C605, B605/B615, B600/B610, WorkCentre 6515 and Phaser 6510. Firmware upgrades deliver the latest features and solutions to keep your machines running smoothly and securely. It is recommended that all customers apply these updates to their machines.
The latest updates are customer installable and are available in the form of a Service Pack. A Service Pack contains important new features and fixes that have been developed after the latest general/manufacturing release. The details of the latest Service Pack (PL7-R4) upgrade are found in the Product Enhancement Document.
Let’s explore the ways to obtain these important firmware updates. It varies slightly by model and if your device is on a network.
VersaLink C400, C405, B400, B405, C500/C600, C505/C605, B605/B615, B600/B610 can be setup to check for software updates on demand or routinely, and download the file directly. This is a convenient way to make sure your device is always at the latest and greatest firmware level. To take advantage of this feature, the device needs to be setup on a network with internet access. You will be notified when an update is available and will need to accept the end user license agreement before installing.
Firmware and Service Pack updates can also be downloaded from the product’s Drivers & Downloads webpage on support.xerox.com to a computer and transferred to the printer/multifunction printer (MFP). Installation instructions are packaged with the firmware in the downloadable file.
There are two methods to transfer the file:
- Using a Firmware Install Utility: Download the utility from the Utilities and Applications category of the product’s drivers and downloads page. This will allow the file transfer to occur over USB or network connection.
- Using Embedded Web Server (EWS): This method is supported by VersaLink models only, and requires that the printer/MFP’s webpage is accessible from the computer. This is possible when the computer and printer/MFP are on the same network or have a wi-fi direct connection.
Please note that your machine must be at a certain level of firmware before it can upgrade to the latest Service Pack. Check your machine’s current firmware level; if it is below the required level a bridge release will need to be installed first. If your machine is setup to check for updates directly, it will automatically install the bridge release first, and then install the service pack the next time it checks for an update. If you are downloading the file from support.xerox.com and transferring it to your printer/MFP, follow the two-step process laid out within the Service Pack download file. The Service Pack download contains links to obtain the bridge release, if required, and the latest update.

B405 can’t be updated. Following the manual download ( https://www.support.xerox.com/en-us/product/versalink-b405/content/151392 ) shows the server just doesn’t have the files for either the instructions, bridge update or new update:

I’m a Xerox Partner and stumbled upon this post by accident.
I am wondering why this kind of information isn’t readily available on the Partner Portal? It seems that is only devoted to selling the product. But once in the field we also have to keep it maintained and these security updates are an essential part of that.
In terms of finding out that these updates are available, unless you go to the Drivers & Downloads support page for each device, I can’t seem to find any other mention.
I’ve contacted my Partner Manager, but she didn’t have any answer. Her suggestion to contact the eConcierge team resulted in a “we don’t do this either.”
Do you have any recommendations for improvement regarding technical updates such as this?

The link to the download to the service packfor the Workcentre 6515 refers to a pdf-file. There is no service-pack to download.

I have installed Current Version: 38.68.31
Installed On: 2022/03/14 – 16:41
Released: 03/09/2022.
This was released 6 days ago, and has security certificates that expired in 2020! The certificate update tool notices that they are expired yet will to fix it. I cannot establish a secure connection with my email service with the expired certs. What can I do, I just bought 2 of these printers.

When I try to do the “Bridge” update from my mac, it takes about a second, tells me that my firmware is updated, and the printer never reboots.
I tried using the “MySupport” feature but it asks for Customer Number, order number, or contract number. (I bought my printer in 2020 from amazon, I don’t have these things).

The recommended updated broke my printer, now I cannot scan and it has all sorts of error messages. I have been requesting tech support to roll-back the firmware to the previous version, but for over a MONTH now they have not been able to send anyone out. This is ridiculous XEROX is a failure in tech support.

meanly we are facing an issue with the authentication poll updating. the device is rejecting the DCE attempt to upload the authentication may be there issue with memory but there is 160 GB HDD install. I thought the versalink device would not able to use full memory.

I successfully upgraded to v65.59.11, however when I then want to upgrade from v65.59.11 to v65.69.51 it doesn’t work … it indicates an error with the upgrade … using fwdl5.3.6.19ww-20201006-1 and the following .BIN file: 656951_WC6515_E.bin

I have a workcenter 6515. Its last firmware update is from 2017. As I understand, it cannot been updated from its internal website. But I am under linux. I can’t find the windows firware update tool on Xeorox website anyway. So I’m stuck.
If I open my linux driver I can’t see any firmware updating tool either.

My 6510 printer does not allow updates. There are no option on Software Update.
