Xerox® VersaLink® C405 and B405 Multifunction Printers

Last week we looked at the new Xerox® VersaLink® C400 and B400 Printers.  This week let’s look at the Xerox® VersaLink® C405 and B405 Multifunction Printers.  So what is the difference? Well the Xerox VersaLink C405 and B405 are multifunction printers that include not only printing but copying, faxing, scanning and emailing. The multifunction printers include all the features we discussed in last week’s article and more.

The multifunction printers bring you the features you have come to expect.

  • Fax, including LAN Fax, Direct Fax, Fax Forward to Email and Fax dialing via Unified Address Book (up to 2,000 contacts)
  • Scan, including Scan to USB, Scan to Email, Scan to Network (FTP or Browse SMB)
  • Copy, at up to 600 x 600 dpi

The printers and multifunction printers include a help desk at your fingertips with easy, step-by-step troubleshooting assistance including embedded help videos on the user interface.  Not close to the printer? You can troubleshoot and perform diagnostics right from your computer using the remote service functionality. The remote service eliminates multiple trips to the printer or multifunction printer.

VersaLink multifunction printers have pre-loaded embedded apps ready to use that allow you to easily scan documents and send them to some of the popular cloud services like DropBox™, Google Drive™ or Microsoft®OneDrive® without tedious setup.

    The ability to use the “Scan to” features would be amazing if someone could provide a link to any help whatsoever on using the basics functions of this MFP? I see a lot of posts with people asking the same question regarding getting an error message when trying to setup the “Scan to Network” feature but I have seen no solutions provided?

    I understand the units are new but I think the support for new models should precede their release?

    I have three new Versa Link MFP’s. We have not yet been able to set up the Scan to network, but the scan to e-mail works flawlessly.
    Do not try to clone one and drop the clone on another – Xerox does not have that function working yet. We had to reset the second printer back to factory defaults and start the configuration over again. Nice concept, but it would have been better if the option worked before the printer was released.

    Why when I copy a document in letter format, the Versalink B405 prints on a legal format ? Each tray are well indicated letter or legal and the setup is on automatic selection.
    I have to chose the right tray to have the letter format.

      Thank you for reading the blog. Please take a look at the solutions for loading paper in the trays. Also make sure that the correct paper size is selected in the program you are printing from. You can also turn off auto select and see if that will force it to use the letter size paper. If none of this helps please consider contacting your local support centre for additional assistance.

    there is any trouble shooting book available? i am always having problem. I am not feeling well each and every time to call the supplier.

      Thank you for reading the At Your Service blog. The only code I could find close to what you stated is the 027-452 which indicates an issue with the IP address of the printer. Please see this solution for information.

    so we had this printer set up at our reception and in all surgery’s and printed fine – we have now moved into the office as network and server is in there and now showing offline but can print from work doc only not r4 and offline everywhere in the surgery now? please help

    On the B405 what do the number codes mean on the fax confirmation sheet? On the older models the explanations were at the bottom of the fax confirm. but not on this machine. Where do I find that info now?

    When copying from the document glass, is there any possibility to avoid the annoying windows “done / add page / delete” after each copy? If not, please change it in the next firmware release.

      Thank you for reading the blog. No there is not a way to avoid those prompts if you are copying from the glass. The copier does not know what to do next when you copy from the glass. The only way to avoid the prompts is to use the automatic document feeder. Unfortunately, you cannot always use the ADF so you would have to respond to the prompts. I will escalate your concerns and request. Please consider contacting your local support centre for additional assistance.

    Buenas noches.

    Me gustaría saber como puedo solucionar un código de error 018-762 para MFP’s B405/C405/B70xx en escaneo SMB, en especial para Win7.

    – Ya desinstale antivirus
    – Baje firewall de windows
    – Habilite regla para puerto 139/445
    – Cambie de nombre de hots a IP de pc
    – Actualice firmware a la ultima versión (desde web y de forma manual usb)
    – Se le dio formato de fabrica, se cargo software de nuevo a ultima versión

    Pero siguen marcando el mismo error 018-762.
    Espero me puedan dar una solución real y no un solo “pongase en contacto con …”

    De ante mano agradezco el tiempo brindado y quedo a la espera de una solución.

    Is it possible to select the tray we want to print from. I know you can set the priority of the trays on the printer itself. But can we select between the two trays on our PCs before printing?

    I have a B405 copier and we are experiencing a strange problem, we can make a use the feeder to make a copy of a legal sized document but if we use the glass to make a copy of the same document it prints out on a letter sized paper, would like to hear the feedback on this issue, thanks.

      Thank you for reading the At Your Service blog. Please make sure you are making the proper adjustments on the copy properties. Place the paper on the glass in the upper left hand corner of the glass. Make sure that you set the original size to legal. Make sure reduce and enlarge is not set to a value other than 100% and that you have legal size paper loaded in the machine. If it still copies to letter size please consider posting your question to the Xerox Customer Support Forum or contacting your local support centre.
