Xerox tries to provide up-to-date drivers when new operating systems are launched. Sometimes getting those drivers out takes more time then we imagined and sometimes drivers for legacy or older products are not created. Whatever the reason some of you are having trouble getting your Xerox printers and multifunction devices printing from Apple Mac® 10.10 otherwise known as Yosemite. In this article I am going to provide a few of the suggestions that have worked for other customers. These ideas come from the Customer Support Community.
Disclaimer: These suggestions have not been tested or verified by Xerox. They are being offered as an at your own risk possibility to help. Read the full threads in the Community Support Forum by searching on “Yosemite” or clicking on the “Suggestion” link below.
Suggestion 1: “create an IP version of the printer rather than using the default Bonjour® connection. Click the “IP” pane of “Add printer” and enter the IP address of your printer and then setup is the same… I did this and when printing to it printed instantly.”
Suggestion 2: “Recently got my Phaser 7760 working, via the Mavericks driver installer, in Yosemite, by changing the OSX® version numbers in SystemVersion.plist (Hard drive->System->Library->CoreServices->SystemVersion.plist) to 10.9.5 so the installer program thought it was in Mavericks, even when it was in Yosemite. After the install process, I changed SystemVersion.plist back again, to, in my case, 10.10.1”
Suggestion 3: “I rolled back my driver to get the most from my Phaser… rolling back to 10.9 did nothing but rolling back to 10.8 and magically everything connected and started communicating as normal, with all the printer options I’m used to. Don’t know if that would work for everyone but after pulling my hair out over the past month this has been working for the last several days, incident-free.”
Suggestion 4: “It looks as though Apple have now included the Xerox Phaser 7760 print driver in the Xerox Printer Software Update v 2.3. You can download it from here if the update doesn’t show in SU.
If you Delete the Phaser 7760 in Preferences > Printers & Scanners, run the update, add printer and pull down to Select Software and from the list of printers that appears in a new dialogue box scroll down to Xerox Phaser 7760 (whatever version you have).
Just to let you know, in my experience with this issue, I tried installing a new full installation of 10.10.2 downloaded from the App Store, also I downloaded a Combo version of 10.10.2, but the Phaser 7760 print driver wasn’t included in either of these updates.”
These suggestions may also work for other Printers and Multifunction Devices than those mentioned in the posts.
Please consider going to the Customer Support Forum and searching for additional information or offering suggestions you have gotten to work for you.

What’s the ETA on a MAC OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 Driver for a WorkCentre 6505N?
Hi Chris,
Thank you for reading the At Your Service blog. I do not have an ETA for a Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 driver for the WorkCentre 6505N. Please continue to check back at the driver and download page for your machine. Alternatively you can contact support to see if they have any additional information.
Thanks,
CherylO-Xerox
Hi guys
i’ve just downloaded and installed the printer drivers for Xerox DocuCentre IV C3373, installed the network printer via direct IP and correct printer drivers, trying to send a test page to the printer, it sounds like it’s communicating to it but printer only beeps for 5 seconds and drops the test print. I’m using os x10.10.2 , do you know what’s the issue here?
cheers
Alan
Hi Alan,
Thank you for reading the At Your Service blog. I apologize but I do not have information on the driver for the Xerox DocuCentre IV C3373. Your printer is not available here in the US. If the suggestions in the post did not help I would suggest contacting your local support centre or posting to the Support Forum.
Thanks,
CherylO-Xerox
I’ve got the same problem with my printer C3100, if you found a solution Alan please let us know ! or anyone else that might have any suggestions ?
Cheers
Alex
Hi Alex,
Thank you for reading the At Your Service blog. If you are having issues with your printer please consider contacting your local support centre or you can also search or post a question on the Xerox Community Support Forum.

Same issues with my 8560DN. I’m a software developer and I understand the challenges that come with driver updates and OS updates. I get it.
That said, Yosemite has been out for more than just a few months and Xerox really SHOULD have posted at least one driver update. Unfortunately it looks like no one at Xerox is doing anything about it. If my printer was 7-10+ years old I could understand that keeping old products drivers up to date is difficult, but such is not the case.
Love my Xerox printer but if the updates don’t come soon I’m going to need to look to another manufacturer who is keeping up.
Frustrated in Minneapolis.
Hi Jim,
Thank you for reading the At Your Service blog. I understand your frustration that is why i wrote the article. If the suggestions in the blog article did not help please consider contacting your local support centre for additional help. I apologize on the delay in getting the drivers out.
Thanks,
CherylO-Xerox
Same issues with Xerox WorkCentre 7545. Had been using the older Xerox driver 2.7.9 to use accounting IDs on the printer but the latest Yosemite update broke it. I’ve tried the newer Xerox drivers through the App Store update but none of them addressed the standard accounting ID issue so I’ve had to stick with 2.7.9.
I have a feeling is not going to get resolved.
Hi WorkCentre 7435 User,
Thank you for reading the At Your Service blog. There is a newer driver available for the WorkCentre 7545 dated Feb 25, 2015 version 3.52.0, have you tried this driver? If that driver does not work then I would suggest contacting you local customer support centre.
Thanks,
CherylO-Xerox
We’re using Yosemite 10.10.3 and the newly posted Xerox 2.0.14 printer drivers. All we get are blank pages from our Phaser 5550 DN printers. Has anyone else seen this?
Hi Stephen,
Thank you for reading the At Your Service blog. Please make sure you have the most recent firmware loaded on your Phaser 5550. If this doesn’t help try resetting the NVRAM. If this does not help please consider contacting your local support centre.
Thanks,
CherylO-Xerox
Hello Xerox, Thanks for this blog post. What’s the estimated ETA for Xerox Color 570 drivers for Mac OS X Yosemite?
Thanks!
Hi IvyDigital,
Thank you for reading the At Your Service blog. It looks like the driver was posted on May 18, 2015 for the Xerox Color 570. If you have questions or concerns about the driver please consider contacting your local support centre.

Cheryl,
Thanks for monitoring this thread. Obviously this is a big problem Xerox should be taking seriously. I too am having a problem with my Workcentre 3210 – printing works fine, it just won’t scan. Yosemite 10.10 won’t recognize the device as a scanner. Makes day to day work quite difficult now. I’ve tried installing the printer using other drivers, such as the WC 4250 (2.94.1) and no luck. Any word on driver updates for the 3210?? Thanks!
Hi Evan,
Thanks for your comment. The only information I have is that available in the Yosemite 10.10 Xerox® Product Compatibility document. So the quick answers is no I do not have a time frame. Please keep checking back.
Thanks,
CherylO-Xerox
What’s the ETA on WorkCentre 3325 for Yosemite? Now that “El Capitan” has been announced… will Xerox ever publish updated drivers? Should I just go buy a different printer?
Hi Octavio,
Thank you for reading the At Your Service blog. I do not have the ETA for the driver for the WorkCentre 33325. In the latest compatibility document it is indicated that one will be developed but no date is given. I understand and I am sorry for your frustration. Please keep checking back periodically for updates.
Thanks,
CherylO-Xerox
Are there any plans to update the Xerox Workcentre 5030 driver to work with Yosemite? Since upgrading the printer will no longer work and is crashing all Microsoft Office programs anytime that I try to print. Deleting the printer and adding one of the supported printers (ColorQube 8570) that we have at least lets me use Office programs and print, but the inability to use the 5030 is very frustrating.
Hi JW,
Thank you for reading the At Your Service blog. According to the latest compatibility document it is indicated that a Mac 10.10 Yosemite driver will not be developed for the WorkCentre 5030. I am sorry for your frustration. Please consider contacting your local support centre for more information or potential workarounds.
Thanks,
CherylO-Xerox
For my WorkCentre 6505 Color, MF Printer…..According to the latest compatibility document cited in this thread that’s titled “Xerox Product Compatibility for Apple OS X Yosemite” (Xerox publication 5/15 BR13806 SFTDS-01UD) it indicates a “Compatibility Level” of “1”, which according to the table on page 1 of the same document, means “Drivers for OS X Yosemite are available and can be downloaded from http://www.xerox.com“.
So I go to http://www.xerox.com/drivers, and choose WorkCentre 6505, then click on “Drivers & Downloads”. The Operating System is set to “Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite” (as I’m on Mac, the Xerox site reconciles to the correct OS) and all three of the drivers listed are for Mac OS 10.9 and the driver is dated April 3, 2014, which is 8 months prior to my original post above.
So where are the specific drivers “FOR” OS X 10.10?
Hi Chris,
Thank you for reading the At Your Service blog. The driver that is posted on the WorkCentre 6505 site is listed as compatible for both Apple Mac OS 10.9 and 10.10. Have you tried the driver? If it did not work for you please consider contacting your local support centre.
Thanks,
CherylO-Xerox
Anyone know how to get my new mac with osx yosimite 10.10.2 working with a xerox 700 digital color press with creo rip?
Hi Josh,
Thank you for reading the At Your Service blog. Please take a look at the product compatibility document for Yosemite. You can also contact your local support centre for possible workarounds.
Thanks,
CherylO-Xerox
My 7760 DN printer refuse to print due to authentication error. The queue stacks and nothing happens. I have no problem in Snow Leopard, only in Yosemite installation. I tried to install 2.0.13 version drivers… nothing. I copied the folder Printers from Snow Leopard Library to the Yosemite one ….nothing. I also tried to install printer as ip, lpd, even hp… nothing!
PLEASE HELP….I dont know what else to do!
Hi Chris,
Thank you for reading the At Your Service blog. Please take a look at this post for the Xerox Community Forum. I realize this is for a different machine but it is in the same family and the solution should help you. If it does not then please consider contacting your local support centre.
Thanks,
CherylO-Xerox
Hello Xerox, Thanks for this blog post.
My Xerox Work Centre 6015 N do not function on Mac OS X El Capitan (OS X 10.11.1)
Have you a smart solution?
Thank’s for your answer
Cristiano
Hi Cristiano,
Thank you for reading the At Your Service blog. At this time if the Mac 10.10 driver does not work you will have to wait till Mac 10.11 El Capitan is released to the public. I do not know when or if driver will be available until the OS is released.
Thanks,
CherylO-Xerox
Hi Cheryl, thank you for your soon answer, please have you a temporary solution for this problema?
Hi Cristiano,
Thanks for your reply. No I do not have a solution. I have not seen El Capitan since it has not been released so I have no way to test it or make any suggestions. I am sure once it has been released more information will be available.
Thanks,
CherylO-Xerox
Hi Cheryl,
Remember my Xerox Work Centre 6015 N that do not function on Mac OS X El Capitan?
Yesterday Apple as been released to the public the new OS X.
Have you any news?
Thank’s for your answer
Cristiano
Hi Cristiano,
Thank you for reading he At Your Service blog. At this time we are still in the process of testing the driver for some our devices. Please continue to check on the Drivers and Downloads tab on the support pages for your model for updated drivers. Drivers will be added as they become available. If you have additional questions please contact your local support centre.
Thanks,
CherylO-Xerox
You should have a solution – El Capitan has been available to developers (I am sure Xerox qualifies) and as a public beta for months. There is no excuse that Xerox cannot stay on top of drivers for OS X releases. I will never buy a Xerox product again.

You have any ETA for the driver?. El Capitan was in beta for quite some time so that you could do tests and get ready for the final release.
Best regard.

I have the same problem today. 3040 is one of the best sold printers in Turkey I believe in many more people are having the same problem.
Hi Ali,
Thank you for reading the At Your Service blog. When you say you are having the same problem do you mean you can not print? If so make sure you are using the Mac 10.10 Yosemite driver for your machine and if that driver does not work I would suggest contacting your local support centre or posting to the Xerox Community Support Forum.
Thanks,
CherylO-Xerox
Until Xerox drivers have been updated here’s a work around. If you have another Mac on your network that is not running El Capitan and can print to the WC6015, share that printer connection on the network.
That Mac will then act as a print server and any other Mac running El Capitan can print using that shared printer connection.
Here’s how to share your printer in Yosemite…

There are a number of Docuprint drivers for El Capitan missing from the download website. I need to be able to use a CM205b. The will the driver be available? Given that El Capitan was in beta for three months, why could FX not get this ready?

Having more problems with OS and other hardware, now back to Windows computers.

I upgraded my Mac operating system to 10.11.5 (15F34) and since then my Xerox ColorQube 8870 is not printing in Duplex. I am assuming this a driver issue as well. Do you know when the issue will be addressed?
Hi Mark,
Thank you for your comment. Please make sure you have uninstalled your xerox driver, reboot your MAC and then reinstall the most recent driver for the Mac OS X 10.11. If you continue to have problems duplexing also check in the printers and scanner screen to make sure that the correct model of the ColorQube 8870 is chosen and not the generic driver. If the problem continues please contacting your local support centre or posting to the Xerox Support Community.
Thanks,
CherylO-Xerox
