Auditron: Blockbuster hit of the Summer!!

I know Auditron sounds like a title for a summer blockbuster movie but actually it is a blockbuster feature on your machine that can protect your machine from unauthorized use and track usage.  Auditron also referred to as Internal Accounting or Xerox Standard Accounting, not nearly as catchy a title for a movie, allow you to restrict the type and amount of access users have to the machine.  You can set up the auditron to give your users copy, print, scan, and / or, fax usage limits (if these features are available and enabled on your machine).  Or if you have a Color machine you can limit their use of color.  The restriction capabilities are varied and also vary by machine.

The auditron is also great for tracking usage of the machine by individual or by department.  Tracking can be helpful to identify usage trends and for bill back to departments or users at the end of the month or quarter.   These are just some of the potential uses.  There are so many possibilities for using the feature to control the use of the machine and its supplies.  On most machines the auditron or accounting is set-up through CentreWare Internet Services (CWIS).  We discussed CWIS in an earlier blog, please click here to review the CWIS blog.

I am including a video that is a quick overview of the feature and how it is set-up.  Please take a look and see if this feature would be an advantage to your work process.

You can also get more information on the Auditron or Accounting features by going to the Support pages for your machine and searching on Auditron and / or Accounting.

Auditron / Accounting can be a very useful and powerful tool.  Please feel free to ask questions about the feature, if I can’t answer them I will find someone that can!!

      Hi Margo,
You are correct. The availability and capabilities of the Auditron will vary by machine family. Thanks for checking. To be sure of the capabilities of a specific model of machine please see the Support page for the model and check the specifications and / or the product brochure.

is there a way to have the device ask for the user’s passcode when using as a walk-up? We have a WC7335 and WC7345 and if we activate XSA, this is no longer available.

      Hi Mr. George,
Thank you for your comment and I apologize for the long delay in answering you. As you have found if XSA is enabled the walk-up passcode feature is disabled. It is a one or the other situation. Thanks again for your comment and for reading the blog.
